School Picnic

What a fantastic day! The whole school walked down to King Edward Park, where we got to play and have a ride on Thomas. Then we moved over to the pools. We got the whole place to ourselves. We splashed and played in the water and ate suasages and ice blocks, yummy. Oh and we had a special visitor you might see him in the pictures.

Scooby

I got a puppy on the 14th of November and his name is Scooby.

Grandparents Day

Grandparents Day was cool because lots of Granparents came. My Grandparents gave me fudge cake. Mikayla

My Grandad is cool because he hugs me and I like him. Archie

Our Salad

We made a salad with the lettuce from our garden. Kastro said " The lettuce tasted like apples"

"The lettuce is healthy" thinks Michella and Shruti said "I made a capsicum burger".

We had lettuce, cucumber, tomato, sprouts, carrot and capsicum in our salad.

Personal recounts

It was really soft and it felt great on my chest when my brother was sleeping on me. It was like he was hitting me. Mum was going to pick him up then Mum woke him up.

"Mum, Hayley is hitting me!" My sister always teases me. One night we were having chips she put a chip on my plate and I was going to eat it but she took it off my plate. It made me angry.

Alvindra and Hinal are making a pattern by threading the beads.

A visit From Miss McDonald's Grandma

Last term Miss McDonald's Grandma, Mrs Lines came to talk to us about how they used to get food when there weren't any supermarkets.

We asked questions and listened very carefully. We learnt lots of intereting things.

Our Garden

We are growing a garden because we are learning about how we can get food. We have planted strawberries, lettuce and peas. We know that plants need sun, water and soil to grow.

On a friday we have discovery time. Have a look at what we get up to....

How to make Damper by Noah

First we put milk in. Next we put flour in then we put baking powder in. We kneaded the Damper then we squashed it. It felt sticky, it smelled like a farm. We rolled it. It tasted like pancakes, it was yummy. I wish I could have some more.

On Monday we made some Damper. We wrote procedures about how we made it. Here are some of them for you to read.

How to make Damper by Ella

First we put flour in the bowl. Then we tipped baking powder in and poured milk in. Third we kneaded it, it felt like playdough. Finally we rolled it. We put it on the tray and cooked it. We ate it, it tasted like bread I liked it a little bit.

Butter Making

Room 3 is learning about where we would get food from, if we didn't have supermarkets. We decided that we could make some food. We decided to make butter using cream (from cows) and salt. We put it in a jar and shook and shook and shook.
