Personal recounts

It was really soft and it felt great on my chest when my brother was sleeping on me. It was like he was hitting me. Mum was going to pick him up then Mum woke him up.

When I was in Wellington I went on a steamtrain with my sister and my brother. It was fun.

"Mum, Hayley is hitting me!" My sister always teases me. One night we were having chips she put a chip on my plate and I was going to eat it but she took it off my plate. It made me angry.

Krunal broke my puzzles and I banged the door. Krunal got in trouble. I felt happy because he got in trouble.

It was bleeding when I pulled it out. I pulled my tooth out and it was hard. So I ate on the other side because it might hurt.

  4. Wonderful recounts Room 3, I can imagine what it was like by reading what you said. You have conveyed your 'voice' well in the writing. Keep up the blogging, it's great to see your learning. Go the Naki! (I grew up in Stratford).

  5. Hi Room 3,
I enjoyed reading about how you felt in your recounts. I liked the way Shruti included what something felt like "...when my brother was sleeping on me. It was like he was hitting me." I is great when you let the reader know what something looked, felt, smelt, sounded or tasted like. Great work.

  6. Hi Room 3,
Wow! I am so impressed with your writing. Are you really a Y1 class? I can't wait to show my class tomorrow because your stories are so interesting.
I like the way you tell us how you felt about the event you were writing about.
I also like the way you each started your story in a different way.
